Royce Young was born in 1977, to Roy and Deborah Young, in Muskegon, Michigan. He is the oldest of 7 children; four from his dad’s second marriage. Royce grew up in a single parent home, with his mom and 2 siblings, in the small town of Milan, Michigan (east side of the state), until he graduated in 1995. During this time, his family was very involved in church and through this exposure he received Christ as a young teenager.
After graduation, Royce briefly attended GVSU. Unsuccessful in this attempt, he worked in the restaurant industry, for nearly 13 years, where he rose through the ranks to general manager of several concepts. He is now currently enjoying a career in financial services.
Royce has been married to Brooke for over 10 years. They have two boys, Xavier and Cooper and a daughter, Jasmine. The Young family have attended Tabernacle Community Church for more than 6 years.
Don Rewa is the second son of five boys. He attended Catholic schools for all of his elementary and high school years. During the summer between high school and college, he began a personal relationship with Jesus after meeting him at a Catholic charismatic prayer meeting.
While in Grand Rapids for college, he met his wife Cathy, in 1980. He remained in the Catholic church for a few years but eventually they joined Calvary Church where their family grew spiritually and physically. They have five (now grown) children, three of whom were Cathy’s from a previous marriage that Don adopted.
When Calvary teamed up with Messiah Missionary Baptist Church to plant Tabernacle Community Church, Cathy and Don excitedly joined the mission and have attended ever since, doing whatever the Lord has them doing.
